Nearly 16 years after Notorious B.I.G.'s death, the Los Angeles coroner has released his autopsy report, revealing the cause and other details of the slain rapper's murder.
According to the 23-page autopsy report obtained by TheWrap, the rapper -- born Christopher George Latore Wallace in Brooklyn -- was hit by four bullets, all of which passed through the door of a Chevy Suburban before striking the 24-year-old rapper, though only one gunshot wound was deemed fatal by the coroner.

The fatal shot entered Wallace through the abdomen and chest area, perforating the rapper's colon, liver, heart and left lung. The bullet producing the fatal wound was recovered from his left shoulder.
Wallace was also hit in the left forearm, in the back, and in the left thigh, with the last shot causing "superficial laceration of [Wallace's] scrotum."
The report does not say what sequence the shots were fired in.

The autopsy report also notes that Wallace had no drugs or alcohol in his system.
According to the coroner's report, Wallace suffered from morbid obesity at a weight of 395 pounds, and also had an enlarged heart, liver and thyroid gland. The autopsy also found fluid accumulation in his lungs and brain, and also stones in his gallbladder.
Wallace was shot in a drive-by shooting outside of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles following a music-industry event shortly after midnight on March 9, 1997.
Still unsolved, the case was "reinvigorated" in January 2011, after new leads in the case emerged. In April of that year, FBI documents suggested that the Los Angeles Police Department may have been linked to the killing, supporting earlier allegations that police involved in the Rampart scandal helped carry out the killing and subsequently cover it up.
